If there’s one thing that can cut into your profits, it’s auto parts. There’s no way around having to buy them, but that doesn’t mean they have to break the bank.
Assuming I don’t need the parts right away, I almost always buy mine online. I’ve had great luck with the quality, delivery time, and compatibility of most everything I’ve purchased.
On the rare occasion something hasn’t been right, returns and exchanges have been pretty much hassle free.
Even though Amazon and Ebay have a pretty good system for determining parts compatibility, be sure to pay close attention to the vehicle application of the parts you’re buying.
Things to pay attention to are the year, make, model, and engine size that the particular part you’re looking at, as it applies to your vehicle.
For example. A valve cover gasket for a 4 cylinder versus a 6 cylinder Honda Accord will definitely be different. However, both the 4 and 6 cylinder Accord most likely use the same control arms.
Again, Amazon and Ebay do a good job clarifying this, but be sure to pay attention before you buy!
Do you buy parts online often? How’s it worked out for you?
